The Department of Youth Services & Sports (Youth Services Wing) is dedicated to the welfare of the student-youth community of West Bengal. The latest initiative, Banglar Yuva Sathi 2026 (বাংলার যুব সাথী 2026), aims to empower the youth by providing financial independence required for their skill development and job search.
পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে রাজ্যের বেকার যুবক-যুবতীদের স্বাবলম্বী করে তোলার লক্ষ্যে 'বাংলার যুব সাথী 2026' প্রকল্প ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে। এই প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে যোগ্য প্রার্থীরা মাসিক কাসিসটেন্স পাবেন।

রাজ্যের মাধ্যমিক বা সমতুল পরীক্ষায় পাশ করা যেসব যুবক-যুবতী এখনও চাকরি পাননি এবং কোনও স্কলারশিপ ব্যতীত কোনও সামাজিক নিরাপত্তামূলক প্রকল্পের অন্তর্ভুক্ত নন, ২১ থেকে ৪০ বছর বয়স পর্যন্ত সেইসব যুবক-যুবতীদের জন্য প্রতি মাসে ১,৫০০ টাকা করে এই আর্থিক সহায়তা করা হবে।
এই সহায়তা সরাসরি ব্যাঙ্ক অ্যাকাউন্টে পৌঁছে যাবে। কোনও চাকরি না-পাওয়া অবধি সর্বোচ্চ ৫ বছর পর্যন্ত এই সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে। আগামী ১ এপ্রিল, ২০২৬ থেকে এই সহায়তা প্রদান করা হবে।

Goal of the Initiative
Youth are the backbone of our society. However, many educated young people in West Bengal face financial struggles while searching for employment or preparing for competitive examinations (like WBCS, SSC, Police, etc.). To support them in this crucial phase of life, the Government has introduced this scheme.
Unlike other social pensions, Banglar Yuva Sathi is strictly linked to unemployment. The assistance is meant to cover expenses for:
- Buying books and study materials.
- Payment of examination fees.
- Travel expenses for interviews.
- Skill development course fees.

What is Banglar Yuva Sathi Scheme?
It is a new initiative by the West Bengal government to provide monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500 to unemployed youth for skill development and exam preparation.
Who is eligible for the ₹1500 monthly assistance?
Unemployed youth who are permanent residents of West Bengal, aged between 21 and 40 years, and have passed Madhyamik (Class 10) are eligible. Regular students and government employees are not eligible.
How can I apply for the scheme?
Applications can be submitted offline at Duare Sarkar camps or Block/Municipality offices. An online portal is also expected to launch soon.
When will the application process start?
The scheme is expected to be implemented from April 1, 2026. Official notifications for application dates will be released shortly before that.
